We are almost through with setting everything right for the National Finals – the last stage in the journey of Debating Matters.

Eight schools from four regions will be in New Delhi to take part in this three-day residential event starting from 14 to 16 January 2010.

On the 14th schools start arriving at the British Council. They register and head for an early lunch followed by series of expert witness seminars, discussions, and an early evening inspiration event before they head for their hotel. 15th will have schools battling out the preliminary rounds a quick lunch and they’re back on track. The evening will witness the Question Time modeled around the popular show at BBC our partners the Institute of Ideas organize this well-accepted forum that has been extremely popular amongst audience for years. The panel will consist of opinion makers who would engage themselves with participants and their questions followed by declaration of results and an evening dinner reception marking the end of a brilliant day spent.

16th will feature three rounds of debates followed by presentation, speeches and prize distribution. By the end schools will have made new facebook friends, discussed their points with judges, and the DM team experienced the freezing Delhi temperature but above all learnt a lot on issues and concerns that surround their world.

Really excited to see the debates begin and minds ‘shared’..
